I couldn't submit this at the old site so I am posting this here.

Great observations in your 2/09 blog about Jordan Martz. He was my favorite Hanover player last season. I called him "The Warrior." Reminded me of the Yankees' Paul O'Neill by the same nickname. They said Paul O'Neill treated every at bat as if it were WWIII. Martz played every game the same way. So much fun to watch. Poetic justice that he scored the buzzer beater basket for the win over Annville-Cleona in 2009 Districts.

Anyway, nice article - sorry it took me so long to comment. Keep up the good work.

Sorry, Steven, this blog handles the zone within the Hanover Evening Sun's coverage area.

I agree, though, West York and Red Lion do have some great players. They'd be on this list if the blog covered the entire YAIAA.

Why don't West York or Red Lion have any players in the top ten since they are favorites in the counties and to go deep into the states?

The Mount really looked good in the win over Loyola. However, they need more production from Tayvon Jackson and Danny Thompson in the paint. Jackson is a role player to take up fouls and block shots but Thompson should be more of a scorer. Against Niagara tonight, the Mount will need to either slow the Purple Eagles down or somehow keep up with their fast pace. Niagara is loaded and will be the clear favorite. If Niagara's top player, Tyrone Lewis is back from a minor injury, then Niagara will win this one. It will be difficult, still, for the Mount to defeat Niagara even without Lewis. The are loaded with talent such as Anthony Nelson, Rob Garrison, and Bilal Benn. I predict that Niagara beats the Mount by around 81-72. If the Mount keeps the score low they have a better chance, otherwise, Niagara will light them up. Tonight begins a tough stretch of playing extremely talented teams. Niagara lost to Rhode Island in the NIT last year and will challenge top mid major Siena for the MAAC title. Should be an entertaining game, I hope that many attend, we need loud fans to help!

I figured Oklahoma would go on at least one big run and blow them away. The Mount is gonna be in big trouble if they dont straighten out the mess with Jacolby Wells and Raven Barber. they really need them bad, if they can somehow get them for the 2nd semester in December they will win the conference title. if not, then it will be Quinnipiac.
